Scaffolding Theory and Training Design
Description:
Instructional scaffolding is a learning process designed to promote more effective learning. Scaffolding is the support given during the learning process which is tailored to the needs of the student with the intention of helping the student achieve the learning goals.
In this session we’ll introduce Scaffolding Theory, give you some context around it, and then show how it can be applied to create engaging and effective training material.
About our Presenter:
Tino Simon has almost 20 years of training and technology experience with a variety of organizations including Microsoft, General Electric, Gateway Computers, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of State and North Dakota State University. He has worked on ILT, VLT and e-learn course creation and delivery for a wide range of products and a variety of soft skills. Currently he manages the global Office training programs at Microsoft.
He holds an MBA, and is finishing up a PhD in Adult and Occupational Education, focusing on the question “How do we know training is working?”
